Shanghai Genon Bio-engineering Co. Ltd. (Genon), located on No.88, Cai-lun Road, Zhang-jiang in National Bio-medicine Industry Base of Pu-dong New District, was founded in 1999 under the name of its predecessor Shanghai Sinoroad Bio-engineering Company. Now it is one of the first certificated technology development enterprises in Pu-dong New District, and also one of the "Hi-tech enterprises", "Hi-tech achievement transformation one hundred good enterprises" in Shanghai, "national Postdoctoral Research Station" and "36 Life Science & Technology Training Bases". Approved by Shanghai Science & Technology Committee and based on the company, Shanghai Transgenic Research Center (League juridical person) was founded,. Thus, Genon has become a model enterprise, which consists of production, academy, research and development.

Genon has been advocating the running idea of "Science & technology create healthy future". Based on the established hi-tech platforms of gene transfer, somatic cell cloning, humanized antibodies, and rapid breeding of economic animals, Genon is undertaking stockbreeding, medical and pharmaceutical industries. Up to now, several science & technology achievements have been certificated by the administrative authorities, and many patents (including international patents) obtained.    

Now Genon is carrying on several research & development projects, including a national "863" project, a national scientific achievement transformation project, and a Shanghai momentous basic research project. Meanwhile, development and achievement transformation projects are marching further. Among which several achievements have been demonstrated, and turned into multiple series products in the fields of stockbreeding, medical and pharmaceutical industries.
